The Sant Feliu de Guíxols railway line runs parallel to the Gabarras mountain range and crosses it through the depression formed by the Ridaura river. The profile is very flat, but in order to avoid the mountains (and therefore to avoid tunnels, which would make the budget more expensive), the route was winding, with curves of small radius. The route consisted of 82 bends, 38 to the right and 44 to the left. Of the total length of the course (39.1 km), 36& (about 14 km) were curves. The most numerous bends were between 100 and 150 metres in radius.
